We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Quantity Surveying to join our dynamic team based in the South West. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to take on a leadership role within a respected construction company.

*Responsibilities: *

  • Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship where necessary.
  • Oversee all quantity surveying activities across various projects, ensuring accurate cost estimations, bill of quantities, and contract administration.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to strategize, plan, and execute company objectives related to quantity surveying services.
  • Conduct regular reviews of quantity surveying processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes affecting quantity surveying in the construction sector.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by pitching for new projects, developing proposals, and establishing strategic partnerships.

*Qualifications: *

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Postgraduate qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a similar field would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Director of Quantity Surveying, Head of Quantity Surveying, or a similar senior role within the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and software, with a strong focus on cost management and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • A member of professional institutions such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be highly desirable.

*Additional Information: *

This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will be based in our South West office but may occasionally need to travel to other company locations or client sites as required.
