Title: Utility Surveyor
Location: North East, United Kingdom
The North East region is undergoing significant growth and infrastructure development, and we are at the forefront of this transformation as a leading player in the industry. We are now seeking an experienced Utility Surveyor to join our dynamic team, contributing to the success of our utility mapping projects.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive surveys of underground utility networks within designated areas across the North East region.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective data collection and accurate reporting.
- Utilize state-of-the-art surveying equipment and technology, such as ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic detection, to accurately locate and identify buried utility assets.
- Prepare detailed reports, plans, and drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and follow all relevant health and safety procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with our GIS team to ensure data is correctly entered into our geographic information system (GIS) for future reference.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments, methodologies, and best practices in utility surveying.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior surveyors, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to excel in their roles.
- Contribute to the development of new methodologies and procedures for utility surveying within our organization.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor or similar role within the infrastructure industry.
- Extensive knowledge of underground utility networks, including water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications.
- Proficiency in using GPR, electromagnetic detection equipment, and other surveying tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Surveying, Geology, or a related field.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required within the North East region.
